"Abuse-ment park"

Films: Gingerclown (2013)

Alias: Gingerclown, Braineater, Stomachcrumble, Wormface, Nelly the Spiderwoman, Tea Kettle

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted Home

Height/Weight: Usually that of average humans.

Affiliation: Evl

Summary: It's that kind of film again, folks. A bunch of unsuspecting youth end up in an abandoned area of town that houses unspeakable evil. If that sounds boring, what if we told you it had monsters with varied forms led by a demonic clown voiced by Tim Curry? Got your attention now?

History: Somewhere in the outskirts of a 1983 town, there is an amusement park bereft of life. That is, human life. Any people here have been slaughtered by the motely crew of demon beasts led by Gingerclown, a vile monster who loves to torment those who dare enter. This is the place for those who were deemed unfit to be in Hell. And for some kids who came on a dare, that's not a good sign.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Our two main heroes, a nerd and a girl, manage to brave the horrors in the carnival, with the latter even killing Nelly herself after winning her games. Then Gingerclown makes the error of underestimating teamwork, and is chained by the girl before the nerd strangles him to death while turning his twisted sense of humor on him. The next day greets the two with gusto.

Powers/Abilities: All of the creatures are immortal to some degree.

Weakness: Anything conventional, it would seem, though Nelly will only allow you to kill her if you keep winning her games.

Scariness Factor: 3-A lot of the costumes and props are quite dodgy, the sort of thing you'd expect a puppet show to consider high-budget. Even most of the monsters have this off-beat sense of humor to their antics, particularly the bickering duo of Braineater and Stomachcrumble, as well as Brad Dourif's hilarious Wormface character. But all are just plain grotesque to look at, with Stomachcrumble and Wormface in particular looking quite nauseating. At the top of sadism though is Gingerclown himself, thanks in no small part to Tim Curry's performance.

Trivia: -Most of this film was shot on location at the Budapest Amusement Park.

-When casting for Gingerclown began, Tim Curry was the absolute first choice. Considering one of his more famous roles (you know the one), how could we blame them?
